Jonathan J. Moore graduated from the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School of Engineering, receiving the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He spent his co-operative internship assignment working in LG&E’s Cane Run Station, where he was hired full-time as an Electrical Engineer after receiving his BS EE. While working, Moore attained his MENG degree in Electrical Engineering, followed by an MBA, both from the University of Louisville. Moore worked at various plants and in Central Engineering for LG&E, KU, and their parent company E.On US during his early career. After nearly a decade in the industry, Moore founded and owns Moore Ventures, LLC, which is both his employment and passion. The successful company focuses on retrofit engineering for Power and Process plants in the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys, including small turnkey Engineer, Procure & Construct (EPC) type contracts. Moore has also been involved in more of a management role in power development projects in the biomass power sector , including his work on the development of what, if built, will be North America’s largest wood-fired power plant. Also participating in many outside interests, Moore is was appointed by Governors Patton and Fletcher to successive terms on the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction Electrical Advisory Committee, on which he also served as vice-chair. Moore was selected to participate in the 2003-04 Leadership Lexington program. He has also served as the chair of the Supervisory Committee and was twice elected to terms served as a director of the KUE Federal Credit Union, including a year as Vice President of the federally chartered credit union. Moore also served on the board and as treasurer of the LFUCG/UK Friends of the Arboretum, Friends organization, Kentucky’s State Botanical Garden. Moore and his wife, KaraBeth are members of First United Methodist Church. |
